About Us

MED for KIDS Nepal is a voluntary association that works for the welfare of children in Nepal. Our goal is to provide children in Nepal with access to medical care and social support. Through voluntary work and donations, we are able to positively influence the lives of many children and give them a better future.

Contacts with the Siddhi Memoral Hospital (SMH) have existed since 2016. What began with a visit to the SMH as a tourist has developed into regular contact and professional exchange between medical professionals in Nepal and Switzerland. In the meantime, nurses from Switzerland have been on short assignments at the SMH, combined with donations of medical materials, equipment and training on site and online. In June 2024, the MED for KIDS Nepal association was founded.

Purpose

The non-profit association aims

  • Consultations, education, training and further education for local health care workers in Nepal;

  • improving the medical infrastructure in hospitals by organizing and transporting the necessary medical supplies and equipment to Nepal (newly purchased or used materials and equipment in good condition);

  • the organisation of spare parts, repair or maintenance of materials and equipment on site, mainly of the equipment brought and organised by the association (sustainability); and

  • the support of other local organizations/institutions in Nepal that work for children and young adults.

Goal

The aim of the association is

  • to further develop local medical care in a qualitative and sustainable manner;

  • to expand the competencies of the treatment teams; and

  • to improve patient treatment outcomes.
